Awareness, views and experiences of Citizen Science among Swedish researchers — two surveys

In 2021 Sweden’s first national portal for citizen science will be launched to help researchers practice sustainable and responsible with different societal stakeholders. This paper present findings from two surveys on attitudes experiences of among at Swedish universities. Both provided input the development portal, which are a key stakeholder group. The survey (n=636) was exclusively focused involved other personnel University Agricultural Science (SLU). 63% respondents SLU had heard about (CS) prior survey; however majority these (61%) not been in any CS initiative themselves. Dominant reasons choosing approach projects were enable collection large amounts data (68%), improving knowledge base (59%), quality (25%), promote participants’ understanding research (21%) collaboration between university society (20%). (n=3 699) broader topic communication open science, including questions CS, distributed all 61% engaged where volunteers process. A minority participated collected (18%), internal or external (16%), contributed project ideas (14%) and/or formulated (11%).
